As Saabu stated, you do not need to remove the upper control arm from the car. This eliminates the need to drop the spring. The trick is to do one bushing at a time.

-Keep track of the shims to retain proper caster and camber.
-Soak the back side of the control arm bolts(nuts welded to body) with penetrant the night before you will tackle the job. The welds can break. All is not lost if they do, since you can just put in new regular nuts with a washer.
- Assuming you get the control arm mount off the rod OK, the only other hard part is pressing the new bushings into the mounts. A hydraulic press makes it easier, but you can use a good bench vice or a giant C-Clamp. The problem with getting the bushings in, is that the bushings deform when you try to press them in even if "lubed" up with dishwashing liquid or armorall. Either buy several extras or fashion a makeshift cylinder to channel the bushing and keep it from expanding when you press it in. You can use a piece of scrap sheet metal or even a sidewall section of a thick tin can. Get a couple of hose clamps to form the cylinder to the diameter of the bushing. Then, with the bushing in the cylinder, you can press it in. A helper is good for extra hands.
