I like my job! I am an electronics technician for an audio-visual dealer. I get to play around with all the latest electronic sight & sound gadgets all day long. Plus, the company is a small, family run business that has good benefits, and a good atmosphere to work in. I won't say that it's perfect here, no job is. There are still times of stress, but I cannot see myself enjoying working anyplace else.
Likewise, it shows in my attitude in the morning commute. Today was a nice warm day, so I headed to work with the top down in my convertible. I live in the city, and commute to the 'burbs for work...opposite the flow of the rest of traffic. Despite the fact that I could go as fast as I want, I take it easy and go the posted speed over in the right lane... just to enjoy the ride in the ragtop as long as I can. It's nice to just savor the moment as much as I can! Still, I'm eager to get to work. I had on summer casual clothes today which consisted of a tropical shirt and a pair of jeans. I was singing along with the CD player as it cranked out my favorite tunes, and my long hair blew in the breeze, I was enjoyed every bit of the trip!
That's where the aggrivation to other drivers come in. SUV's driven by the suit & tie types were passing me like I was standing still, on their way to jobs that they probably don't want anyways, but cant leave because of their debts. They were frantic to get to work because perhaps because they left the house late. Their tempers, although being boiled by political ranting on their talk radio, was being kept in check by their air conditioners up on full blast. They didn't have the windows down despite the nice weather, because the wind will mess up their clothes and hair. Encountering a person like me on the road just makes them think "how can that be?, this just isn't right!, why is he so happy?!?!"
