i am a new saab owner. picked up an awesome 89 turbo. it had 120k on her when i bought it. have put 7,000k on her since. this car is great. it had been kept up very well. new transmistion, clutch, all new hoses. the bad news is it needs its 121,000k service. i am a very good diy mechanic and am waiting on my saab service manual before doing the service. my questions is about the parts i will be using. when i changed thed oil the first time she had a saab oil filter on. i used one that i bought from a local import part store. i dont want to go to my local saab dealer and pay retail for parts. i dont know where else to look or if it is even nessary to use saab parts for things like that. will i want to use oem wires, plugs, cap and rotor. i no nothing about this but i had to think about it when i pulled that oil filter off. i mean who uses a saab brand oil filter? do you guys? should all the parts i use be oem. if so where can i get them besides my local saab dealership.
