Another what's it worth question....?

I hope you board regulars don't get too tired of this! I'd really appreciate any off the cuff feedback.
Just drove this private party for sale car:
1990 900, turbo/16 valve, manual. 139K.
Peppy. Drives nice, looks good - tiny bit of rust & a couple of door dings, headliner & leather interior nice, usual cracked dash. Tires wearing evenly. Undercarriage looks rusty but not corroded from what I could see. Shifts well, bit balky getting into reverse.
Seller is selling it for a family friend, says she has all documentation from the last ten years; tells me front brakes, rear calipers & "some suspension work" done recently. Has no clue of age & condition of turbo. (Some turbo lag which I believe normal, seems quite strong.)
They are asking IMHO way too much - $4,500. I haven't tried dickering yet. I told him I would want to take it to my mechanic for evaluation.
Any thoughts? I've been a long time Saab owner, but I'm no expert on the mechanics, really.
Thanks SO much!
Oh PS, the car is in SE Michigan, where it appears that a: most of the population hasn't a clue how to drive a manual & b: domestic autos reign.
