I've had 11 C900's since 1984. Replaced one turbo. Wouldn't consider a non-turbo. Gas mileage is 28-29 mpg for my 1990 SPG Turbo using mid-grade gas (rural Maine, some highway) and the available performance is great. I use it but I don't abuse it. The Maintenance $$$ could go up if you beat on one incessantly, but if you buy a non-turbo you'll be working it harder forever, trying to get performance out of it which is not there.
And as John in CT says, It sure puts a smile on my face!
BUT - try to get a good one, have a pre-purchase inspection done, and most of all - know what you'll need to spend going in (try to avoid costly disappointments). Good luck!
