if it's the threads that are cracked, maybe you could have it drilled and tapped to a bigger size? one possible problem of doing that is applying too much torque with a bigger plug down the road and doing same thing again. other options maybe being drill and tap for a bigger hole, then put in a blank that is also threaded so you can use the original small plug that is supposed to be in there. third choice possibly being install a helicoil after drilling hole larger.
i'm just guessing because i don't know, but if it's part of the trans casing, then won't engine have to come out and tranny have to come off to gut yours and put in new casing? or maybe just drop in new or rebuilt or used transmission, but that still leaves re & re engine question. mark :-)
