Temp Gauge Goes Wild Posted by Ken [Email] (#2113) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ken) on Fri, 9 Jul 2004 06:31:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a '96 900 SE Turbo, great car and all. Two weeks ago while driving on the infamous NJ Turnpike (with out the a/c on) my temp gauge shot up and for the most part stayed at the point of just under the "red zone".
I stopped the car, there were no leaks etc, and I was able to finish the ride (albeit with one eye on the temp gauge).
Now if I use the car with the AC ON, she rides fine and the temp gauge stays right in the mid range, without the AC on the gauge SOMETIMES shoots up other times not.
My own thoughts were either a stuck thermostat, or bad water pump, but based on the AC issue could one of the fans be bad???
any comments?
Thanks
