Yellowdog, you've got some interesting tips on how to prevent this problem I termed "coral-ing" . If you look closely at the spoiler, it looks like coral. I had the same problem. Here's how I fixed it. Get a variety pak of wet sand automotive sand paper. Start with the coursest grit, and wet sand the entire surface working your way down to the finest grade. Have a hose and use it frequenty. Only do this as a wet sand. As you do this, spend a lot of time rubbing and feeling the surface, as you would if sanding wood. Also, be carefull on the edges, your paint will not be forgiving. You will be amazed on how it smooths the surface out!! No more sticking lint or peices of sponge after you wash or clean. Also, zero evidence that you even did this. No sanding scratch marks afterwards. Just as with wood, the results will be based on your effort put in. You will never get it 100% smooth, but very close. When done, try some of these posted tips such as baby or peanut oils...I used a thick goopy rubber product, I think it was Westly's.
