srs/horn contact ring FYI

Recently replaced my heater valve and decided this was the excuse needed to finally replace my cracked dash with the pristine one I've been saving. I had forgotten how much I hate the heater valve job - anyway, after a leisurly afternoon/evening of disassembly, reassembly, flush, fill, bleed, etc. I was tired and simply put my steering wheel back on (not figuring that the contact ring had moved...). Naturally as soon as I backed out of the driveway and turned the wheel I snapped the contact ring. Seeing my low budget repair escalating in cost, I decided to solder the little broken copper wires back together. It's tedious but it worked. Trick is to melt or peel away the plastic sleeve, do clean solders and keep clearance between the wires - I siliconed the patch afterward to cover the splice.
Frugal diy discovery of the day...
Oh, and always label your wires when replacing the fascia.
