I have tried mobil 1 in my trans in the past & every time the trans blows p. The synthetic motor oils are to slippery for the syncros & also are not designed to protect the pinion which is where the whine is from.
Remove it & either go back to whatever was in there or get the honda MTF or redline MTL. I use MTL & MT-90 for my SPG & I have quadroupled the life of the trans.
One time I had a trans rebuilt by a local reputable shop & upon installation I had severe whine with the syncro shift the local saab dealership pushed. I then switched to Amsoil 10w30 (whatever townsend reccomends & the pinion whine was still there & also upon every shift I would grind the gears severly. The next day I tried MTL & the shifts were perfect & the pinion whine was also eliminated. The trans lasted 50K miles which was when I parted the car out. I do agree they did a crappy job on the rebuild for me to experience those problems however the proper fuild protected the trans.
