don't think they're talking about replacing the dash K-Saab. but rather the plastic caps that go on over the dash. when installed, they're difficult to tell it's not the actual dash (minus cracks) except there's typically a "seam" if you will, where the plastic ends in front.

Richard, I've heard mixed things on dash caps, but probably more favorable than unfavorable. some say on the saab you have to cut out where the Vin plate is, so that it can be a bit tricky to get it wedged in at first. on the BMW boards, people have complained that the plastic can actually squeek when hitting bumps, etc. Yet over on the mercedes boards people swear by them (I happen to think the shallow face of old MB dashs lends itself better to being "capped.")

you could fill the cracks and redye the whole thing to match (leatherique or ColorPlus) but it would be pretty difficult to match the dash "grain." I think the dash cap is inexpensive enough to warrant a try.
