Have you applied 12V +/- directly to the pump in both directions to see what happens? I have no CV to offer experience.
If the pump/motor is bad, it would seem like a motor repair shop might be able to repair it, s it sounds like a "motor" problem, not a "pump" problem. it.
From peeking at Bentley, it looks like the hydraulics can be removed as a "set", so as not to have accidental spillage. May be the best way to go? Good luck!
