My 9000 Aero has plenty of cosmetic issues. The wheels are corroded and need to be refinished. The hood is full of rock chips. The front bumper was poorly repaired after a fender bender, and the lip has a lot of scrape marks. The doors have a couple of dings and scratches in them. I often don't get weekends off work, so I don't usually have time to keep the car squeaky clean. Especially since it's black - it's like fighting an eternally losing battle.
Does this mean I don't take care of my car?
On the other hand, my interior is in beautiful shape, especially with all the Lexol I did on the seats when I first got the car in April. The previous owner, (LesH) did an incredible job keeping the mechanical stuff up to date, DIYing a bunch of the infamous Saab 9000 midlife-crisis issues. The thing runs beautifully, idles perfectly, and is practically silent. I flushed the cooling system and refilled with Mercedes antifreeze a couple of months ago, and am about to do my second oil change (I've chosen 5000km intervals) with Mobil 1 synthetic.
Just because the car dosen't look perfect, does not mean it isn't cared for.
