My '84 C900T went over 200k. West coast cars are usually rust-free. Rust is a killer. You can expect maintenance to be more than a Honda or Toyota, and remember these cars are not the most up to date in the electronics and creature comforts. All that said, C900's fit many of us to a T, and we love them. There are several good indie shops (Nordic Motors in San Carlos, Bo Jonsson's in San Mateo, Swedish Auto Factory in Santa Clara, Parker Auto in Mt. View...I'm a peninsula resident and don't know the SF shops but have seen good words about Planet SAAB). Common big-ticket items are head gasket and tranny. You can do most mechanical repairs yourself if you've got the time and inclination (and a Bentley manual). We've got a nice little Bay Area SAAB club, too (see BASC bulletin board).
Yes, with maintenance these cars will go 300k.
