Plenty of turbo cars available on the cheap and in nice condition. IMHO, SPGs are overrated and overvalued considering they are LITTLE more than a fully optioned 900T of the same year with a very modest power increase and appearance / suspension(post MY86) packages. I've had two SPGs ('85 & 87)over the years and still own one ('87). I didn't know there isn't much differnce when I purchased the '87; the '85 came later but at such a low price I grabbed it. Every option that makes an SPG an SPG will fit a std 900T. It takes little to make a 900T outperform a stock SPG. In contrast, its not like the difference between an E36 BMW M3 v. E36 BMW 325 where they actually have complete different motors in addition to the visual cues. All this to say, unless you've just got to have an SPG, buy a clean 900T and use the money saved to modify it with aftermarket parts rather than OEM options and you'll end up with a better performer. SPG ground effects show up on Ebay all the time if you're determined to have that SPG look. BTW, if you frequent this site's classifieds you'll notice California cars tend to sell a bit cheaper on average that ones from other parts of the country; at least that seems to be the case. I've only lived on the East Coast so I have no idea why that is, but it gives you a great handicap. Hope your hunt is successful :o)
