On my '86 T16, I used the handle from a builders bucket ( 3mm dia steel Wire) to make the finger depressing tool, my mate sat in the car with his foot on the clutch pedal to the floor, whilst with a hammer and a large screwdriver I tapped the ring of bucket handle wire between the fingers and the pressure plate. You have to knock the wire in quite a long way and it is a bang your head against the wall job, but once it is in, the pressure plate and clutch plate came out relatively easily. Leave the wire in the pressure plate for re-installation. Took about 3 hours to remove and half an hour to put back, that does not include the time taken in removing most of the engine bay just to get at the thing! I also replaced the slave cylinder whilst I was there as I dont want to have to do that job too often. :-}
