it should kick on the Check Engine light and throw a 12242 code - provided it's an LH 2.4 or later.
If I interpret what I've read about the LH 2.2 right, the CE light functioning is so basic that only a bad signal from the O2 sensor, very rich, very lean, and a bad signal from the AMM will trigger the CE light. Maye a few other things, but I coudn't say for sure. I remember seeing some things on the 2.2 program over on http://www.scottsglen.com, but they appear to be offline at the moment.
Oh to be a good assembly programmer and know how to interpret these things :-)
