I use Lexol on the leather in my '89 with good results. It also has a cleaner that's specific to the problems encountered by automotive seats. Other folks like Leatherique, Connoly Hide Food, or some of the other good preparations.
If you don't change any other hoses, you may want to seriously consider changing the upper radiator hoses and the right-angle crossover hose at the front of the head. I had an upper radiator hose develop an aneurism and burst south of beautiful downtown Frackville, PA at 5 PM on a Saturday afternoon. Only sheer luck and sharp eyes got me back home to ATL the next day. Amongst the hundreds of huge radiator hoses for trucks hanging from the ceiling in an ancient repair shop I got towed to, I spotted a flex hose that fit my SPG *perfectly*!!!
You may also want to consider changing out the various belts. Sometimes, a belt that breaks can take out most or all of the rest of them (BTDT, too.)
If the battery is the original, you might want to replace it and you might also want to check the ground wire that runs from the alternator case to the engine.
