1. If you took it back all the way to using an LH 2.2 ECU, then it needs a dashpot to keep it from stalling when you close the throttle quickly. If you kept the LN 2.4.2 ECU, then you don't need one.
2. Check the turbo bypass valve ("hooter" valve) by taking the vacuum hose off the intake manifold and sucking on it. If it doesn't hold vacuum, you need to replace it. When you close the throttle, the high vacuum in the intake manifold opens the valve to circulate pressurized air back to the turbo suctin. When it doesn't work and the throttle is closed, there is a pressure wave that reflects back from the closed throttle plate and stalls the turbo - and the engine either slows way down for a moment or stalls.
