Nope, you're stuck with that duty Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Tue, 10 Aug 2004 21:19:43 In Reply to: RS, What's a splic- in unit, Greg, Tue, 10 Aug 2004 19:19:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Instead of having the molded-on electrical connector on the cable from the sensor, it just has several feet of cable that you splice a connector onto.
But you still have to take off the crank pulley and remove the old sensor.
You have a few options:
- splice the old connector onto it with either waterproof but splices or soldered connections.
- get a new Bosch connector (my preference: there are some places that sell them) and crimp it on
- cut the old connector from the wiring harness and splice the cable from the sensor directly onto the harness
- get somethng like a waterproof mil-spec connector and forget about the old connectors. That's extra-fancy, but it would be a better connection than the original.
