First place I would check is the dimmer switch; should be able to pull it right out.
If that's not it, then I'd look at the headlight switch; it pulls out, too. Be careful with it -- the plastic tabs that hold it in are weak. If that's not it, I'd pull the knee bolster and look at the three or so lights for the HVAC portion of the dash; also check the wiring for the cigarette ashtray light.
You shouldn't need to remove the fascia but if for some reason you do, be very gentle with it. If it doesn't move easily, then you're bound to break something soon. Also, remove the speaker grille, then, after also removing the knee bolster, remove the cardboard/metal ducting for the driver's side heater vent from its plastic connector at the heater core, and work it out/up via the speaker grill as you move the fascia out. This tube is *stapled* to the fascia; a PITA.
