Trying to diagnose a start/stall condition on this car, which I recently acquired. While tracing a vacuum in the left side fender behind the fuse box, I noticed a bundle of exposed wires & connectors in this area. There are 4 connectors; one 4 wire, one 3 wire, & two 2 wire connectors. All connectors are gray, & one of the 2 wire connectors isn't connected to anything. The wires from one side of this bundle disappear down into the fender well, & the other side feeds into the fuse box toward the back where the relays are located.
I need help identifying what these wires are for because I'm thinking they may point to my start/stall problem. The reason being that the wires on one side of these connectors are in terrible shape. All of them have about 3" of their sheathing stripped away bad enough to expose the copper such that they could easily short out against the body or each other. If any of these wires leads to a fuel or ignition system component, that may point to my problem.
Thanks,
Michael Keith
