the system. After car has been sitting overnite, or for days, the lights will come on with ignition as the pump runs to pressurize the system that has leaked down over time. If you just turn on ignition you should be able to hear the pump run. Soon after the lights go out the pump will stop with the system fully pressurized. The length of time the lights stay on relates to how long the car has been sitting. My'90 has the lights on for about 50 seconds after sitting for about 24 hours. Running short errands and letting car sit parked for 10-15 minutes the lights come on and go out almost immediately.
