i am trying to set the timing on my 87 spg.going with the groove in my clutch cover and the distributor vacuum line plugged, at 14 degrees my engine wants to cut off.i am certain my clutch cover is warped, and i do have the upper 10mm bolt in it so i hoped is was slightly accurate.so far set at 21 degrees she runs pretty good. it was set at about 32 degrees before so i think its better.also i turned up the idle set screw just a cuople of hairs to bring the rpm's to a grand.my TPS sensor is adjusted just so it clicks upon opening the throttle.i do not have any vacuum leaks as i just re-routed new lines, new dump valve, new elbow for the dump valve, all new clamps and hoses elsewhere.my question are ther any more marks stamped somewhere to set the timing accurately? thanx all advice is appreciated.
