There are more things to look at than that.
One thing that's not mentioned in the FAQ is that using spark plug wires other than the OEM Bougicord wires or Magnacores can easily kick you down to base boose. The wires I mentioned are shielded and minimize radio interference. The APC box picks up the radio interference from the unsielded wires through the knock sensor cable, interprets it as knock, and kicks down the boost.
Another really simple thing to check that's mentioned in the FAQ - make sure that the connector is securely latched into the APC box. Don't laugh, it happens more than you'd think.
