SPG's disturbed continuum

So i get home to a disturbed continuum. car's an '87 spg.
Intermittant rough running, and stalls upon dropping rpm, like shifting, or if you push in the clutch with the engine at 3000 rpm or higher. When it's doing it at idle, it sounds like it's running on one or two cyl. Tach does not drop out when it's doing this. Also Air/Fuel ratio is going from running 14:1 to closer to 10:1 (according to my apexi timer), makes me think it's an ignition issue. My brother said it first started doing this when he was at the end of a long trip (northern idaho to western WA). Starts fine. When it's not doing this, it runs very well.
I'm going to test the ICU, and try running without the AMM, etc as soon as it stops raining. Is it common for the ICU to fail like this (not complete failure)?
