91 900 with blown head gasket Posted by John Williams [Email] ![]() ![]() |
About a year ago I purchased a 91 900-turbo convertible and have enjoyed the car very much. In the last few weeks I have had a couple of problems that has lead up to a blown head gasket. I live in the North Atlanta, Georgia area and need some help in deciding to change this head gasket my self or use one of the mechanics listed in the Saabnet site. I have always worked on foreign cars from MG’s, Fiat’s, & BMW’s. This is my first time working on the Saab Turbo other than just the oil changes. Looking at the work at hand this seems pretty simple but this is pretty much the case before you quickly get in over your head. Is this as simple as it looks or is there trouble right around the corner? If I decide to start this work would anyone recommend a machine shop to check the head and rework if anything should not be flat and true.
