If you're talking a drivers side leak, it could one of thse things:
- The bulkhead gasket that seals the fuse box to the inside of the car shrinks after a decade or so and leaks.
- any holes drilled in the kickpanel bulkhead for aftermarket alarms, radar detectors, etc would be good entry points for water.
- There are a few grommets that factory wiring goes through which might have shrunken or cracked or might have the wire pointed downwards as it goes into the car are good entry points for water.
Other places on the drivers side:
- rubber gasket for the shifter rod
- rubber gasket for the steering U joint
- foam gasket around the master clutch cylinder
- foam gasket around the point where the brake actuator is mounted to the firewall.
- rust-through around the windshield gasket (DougM showed one on his website that he found and repaired in his 99)
