I used it as the excuse to finally replace my dash and install new gauges in the upper din slot. In the few years it's been since I replaced one, I had forgotten how difficult it is to get at the screws. The dash makes no real difference but it did allow me a hand above to help with alignment of screws. Best thing you can do is remove the driver seat. Steering wheel removal helps with the partial removal of the instrument panel (which has to be adjar to get the heater control rod off and reattached). I prefer to do this job in non-winter weather since it requires some coolant draining. Also provides the opportunity to flush coolant and replace t-stat, etc. By the way, I use a bit of gasket maker to hold the o-rings in place when aligning and fitting the new valve on the heater core fitting.
