1987 900 Thermo Time Switch (8 valve) - How to check Posted by Frank [Email] (#2509) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Frank) on Sat, 28 Aug 2004 07:39:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
For checking the thermo-time switch on an 8-valve '87 900, are these instructions from the list appropriate?

If so, mine's shot. I measure 33 ohms from one pin to body ground and 0 ohms from the other pin to ground when cold, then 66 ohms from one pin to body ground from one pin and 0 ohms (still) from the other to ground when warm.
The post indicates the base resistance of the first pin should be 40 ohms and the second pin should go up from 0 ohms, when warm.
Having fun under the hood -- Thanks in advance,
Frank
