had a vibration under acceleration at highway speeds. I could make it go away by just maintaining speed but any acceleration (or decel.) caused noticable vibration. Replacing the inner driver eliminated this entirely. I also changed the inner driver seal and the small bearing farthest from the gearbox which is part of the ID flange. FWIW, follow twinsaab.com proceedures, they are well thought out and complete. Removing the inner driver flange is a little tricky, I ended up w/ long extensions and did it from outside framerail. Clean area well w/ degreaser and waterhose before dis-assembly, you will be happier. When you reasseble note radial alignment marks. Reuse shims as found, they are critical. You will need a ball joint removel tool in all likelyhood. You also need a big socket (32mm??) for the wheel hub nut and a two or three foot bar to get the torque on it. Good time to change the brake discs and pads if needed. I bought new holding screw for peace of mind. Oh, I forget the hex size needed to drain oil but it was odd.
I never thought about swapping the drivers side-to-side, it's a good idea. There was no visible wear on my bad driver BTW. If you do swap, be sure not to remove both drivers at the same time, internal transmission damage is certain as unsupported parts shift position,
I also broke one of the four bolts holding the ball joint assy to the upper or lower "A" arm I forget which, nut and bolt is 6 bucks at the dealer and having one or two on hand is not a bad idea.
Best,
John
