Probably shot/leaky A/C. First run the car with the A/c on aand check if the compressor clutch engages. If not, the freon pressure is low due to a leak. You can bypass(jump) the low pressure switch on top of the receiver dryer down near squirter resevoir.
By the time you rebuild the A/C you will spend $250-$700 in parts+labor or diy. The high figure includes a rebuilt compressor.
