timing chain rattling - maybe not.

I kept hearing a rattling sound upon deceleration that I envisioned was the timing chain hitting the upper pad. I had the old style tensioner and I installed a new one. That didn't do anything so I replaced my upper guide in the inside of the valve cover. That didn't solve the rattle either. I even switched to a heavier oil and still heard this rattle.
Last week I realized that the rattle was actually coming from the brace under the exhaust downpipe. I remember someone else posted about this before. If you're chasing a rattle, don't forget to check out this brace. The bolts were 13mm on my car.
