Fuel line cracked at filter! Posted by devin [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Changing the fuel filter was easier than I thought it would be. Until I tried to start the car again. It wouldn't turn over and I smelled gas. Looks like I cracked the line at the banjo bolt after the filter while trying to get the bracket seated right on the underbody.
This was supposed to be preventative maintanance before I get smogged. Last weekend was the 02 sensor. If there's enough slack in the line can I cut it off and reattach the banjo? The Bentley says something about a piece of rubber hose and a vise. Is this where the brake line flair tool comes in?
What's entailed if I have to R&R the whole line . . . and what are the chances of getting such line at Autozone? I don't know if I've got time to wait for a box from SobStory.
Oh, did I mention that I started working on the car because I needed a break from thinking about my dissertation. I wish I was writing about the SaabNet archives.
Thanks,
Devin
