If the shop isn't familiar with C900 Saabs, here's the trick.
Before lifting the car, put spacers underneath the upper control arms. Some people use spark plugs or big nuts, I've used blocks of wood, There's a 'special tool' that's really a block with a little handle.
When you lift the car, that keeps the suspension from extending all the way. If you don't to that, the spring (upper control arm) will push against the shock (lower control arm), and the ball joints will be held firmly together. If they're loose you won't be able to tell.
