I'd had poly alternator bushings in for almost a year. I realized a little while ago that they had collapsed, resultiing in an alternator that was kicked at and angle. Yesterday I did R&R with new OEM bushings, here's the report on the old ones:

These poly bushings were not laminated to their steel shaft, and the shaft was wrong spec. For one it was hardened!!!! NOT GOOD. they cracked apart, rather than deform. For two, they're thinner metal than the oem had. the OE were double wall-thickness on the inside, these were thin the whole way. Additionally, the actual polyurethane was not strong enough, and actually fractured into about a dozen pieces each.
