Garret's need to have the outer components scribed to maintain instalation alignment. Mitsu only goes together one way
Garret bodies are held togetther by 6 screws, 2 of which need coaxing to come out. Mitsu's are held together by a flange that easily comes apart.
Garrets crack at the blow off valve area on the exhaust side of the unit. Mitsus don't seem do do that as often.
Garrets have more intake and exhaust fan options. Mitsus do not and if you have a bad fan, you are screwwed because mitsubishi does NOT sell parts, only complete units.
Garrets have more exhaust side options where as Mitsu's are one size fits all.
Mitsu's are better for city driving and acceleration. Garret's are better for all out high end performance.
Some may take issue with my comments, but I have rebuilt and driven both and I stand by what I have said.
