Stuck key problem solved

As I posted about a month ago, my key had been stuck in the ignition of my 85 turbo. Pulled the seats and opened the ignition/shifter box and found the problem. The arm that locks the key in unless it is in reverse(mine never worked that way) was broken. What was happening was that the arm would travel too far clockwise when the key was in the on position and then the gear teeth that were supposed to engage it to move back it would simply jam. There is a clock spring in there that is supposed to apply pressure to keep this from happening (at least I think that's what the spring is for) but the hole in the arm where the spring attached is where the arm broke. The reason why it was intermittant was because if I'd have slammed on the brakes, the arm would have rotated forward enough to let the gear teeth engage.
If anyone is interested in pictures let me know. I'm taking some before I put it all back together. Can't really fix it so I'm going to drill a hole and put in a screw to act as a stopper to keep it from happening again.
Just thought I'd post this for any others with a similar problem.
