Probably different circuit. Check the fusebox, always.
If fuse/circuit is good, it's possible the contacts in the base of the lightbulb socket are dirty/corroded...I used an ink eraser to clean them or even a small piece of sandpaper crazyglued to the end of a pencil eraser. Then use some dielectric or bulb grease. It could also be a bad ground contact either in the socket or from the socket to ground. Check the ground by testing continuity/resistance between the ground contact and a good ground. YOu could also check the input voltage to the socket with the DVOM.
Last but not least, even a new bulb may not be good...
Generally the rear light cluster wiring harness runs along the driver/left hand side for saabs..it then splits to the RHS. Worst case you may have to run back from the LHS to where the RHS comes together to the main wiring harness and see howcum the juice isn't getting to the RHS..if indeed it's not getting there (which hasn't been established until you check all the above out...).
