AC question...

Ok guys, I am going to be installing a hot engine (250 hp I hope and should be able to hit) in my 89 C900T Conv this winter. Here is the thing. I will be using the 9000 intercooler (at least at first, till I make my own). Should I try and keep my AC? I have always pulled it out of any 900 I tried to hotrod. I know it is extra weight (more then you might think) and costs HP when running. Also I am worried that it might make things harder with the 9000 IC. Will I have cooling problems? The AC system does not work now and I have not tried to trouble shoot it. I REALLY hate hot days (90+). That is why I Love Maine. Thing is summer can get Damn Hot (at least I think so). So I guess to sum it up.
How much of a Performance hit will I take?
How much and how hard will it be to convert to R134A?
And Most of all is it worth it (guess that one is up to me but what do you guys think)?
Thanks as always guys.
