Problem with fuel injection? (longer)

hello everyone, I posted a couple of days ago with a problem I've been having. Still no use.
Anyway, I have an 88 spg which sat for about 6-7 months before I got around to starting it up again, and now it won't run.
If i turn on the key, I hear the fuel pumps start, and they will not shut off. (usually you hear them about 1-2 seconds)Along with this there is quite a bit of clicking along the fuel rail, which stops if i disconnect all the injectors.
Occasionally if the car has been sitting for a while it will start for about 1-2 seconds and then die, fuel pumps/clicking still going on.
I pulled the plugs and checked and they are covered with gas. I also replaced the fuel pressure regulator. No Help.
Basically I think there is way too much fuel delivery for some reason which is flooding the cylinders and keeping the car from running. I am not sure what would cause this - fuel pump relay maybe?
SO if anyone out there knows what this, or has run into it before please give me some ideas on where to go from here, or if you know anywhere in the archives to check that would be great too. I was hoping the FPR would fix it since I had some of those symptoms, but no luck.
Thanks
RickC
PS - there is also a cyclical sucking sound form the fuel regulator (old one and new one (although used) when the key is turned.
