Vibration under accceleration

Hi Saab Brethren -
'94 Saab 900 Non Turbo Convertible - 121K miles. Started noticing about a few weeks ago a very mechanical sounding vibration under acceleration - not really noticeable at idle - and would be loud until roughly 40mph, and then go away - would return at slower speeds. As for my investigation, when in neutral, placing hand on AC Compressor or Coolant hoses and revving engine via throttle cable, a VERY noticeable vibration. Pulled off A/C Belt and idler arm, and problem still present. Checked all mounts on Alternator (recently had replaced bushings) and alternator snug as a bug. What is my next investigation item? Could the pulley in this alternator be shot? Could the main drive pulley be shot? The motor doesn't move under acceleration, so I feel the motor mounts are fine. Thanks in advance, David
