Aside from visually checking the door seals, I don't know what to say. I put a little clear silicone on the door seals (which keeps them from freezing to the doorframe in cold weather) and check for imprints after closing the door as gently as possible.
Also make sure the wet stuff isn't fuel (I know you can probably tell the difference) because there are evap canister lines in the vicinity on some models- is a gasoline smell present?
IF it turns out the doors are not making contact well, you can grab a Torx bit or screwdriver and adjust the door latch striker plates so the door seals against the frame a little better.
