It's fairly straightforward as long as you don't live in NY and all the bolts are rusted and siezed in place.
Insert a spacer, either metal or a chunk of hardwood, between the upper A-arm and the wheel well to hold everything out of tension before jacking the car up. Don't leave the spacer in afterward either.
Pretty much what everyone else has been saying- loosen the lone bolt to the swivel member, hit it with a pickle fork to shake things loose, unbolt the two lower bolts, then slide the swivel member, ball joint, and axle out enough to remove the ball joint from the lower A-arm, it just pulls out, though with much persuasion, again if you live in NY and everything rusts. %$#!%$# salt shakers. The driveshaft will pull out of the inner driveshaft joint at the gearbox. Just don't pull it so hard the boot comes off, and if it does, make darned sure no dirt got in there. Also don't put too much tension on the driveshaft's connection at the CV joint on the steering swivel member. It's not made to do that and could damage things.
I'm looking forward to getting my ball joints and tie rod ends done sometime this weekend, even though I've had the parts for a while.
