It's pretty easy to rewire the audio. Speaker wire colors are easily figured by looking at the leads going to each of the four speakers. I beleive crutchfield will provide a wiring adaptor kit if you're not up for a simple electrical challenge.

To get the dash top off, you will have to remove the front speakers and then you can get at the screws that hold the front of it on. There are also rods/screws underneath the instrument cluster/panel/dash that screw up into the bottom of the dash cover. It is not necessary to remove this for radio wiring. Any radio wiring can be done through the hole that the radio fits in. You can take the sill covers off and lift up the carpet if you want to drop wires down the run them to the back of the car for amps, new speaker wires, etc...
