Hi Folks - Was working on the '94 Non Turbo Automatic Convertible all day today - wanting to resolve my CC problem once and for all. First off - traced all vaccum hoses, both exterior and interior. With Vac pump, was able to see accelerator cable move easily, and hold vaccum. Under the dash, I confirmed that the dump value was flush with the brake pedal, and that the chain was connected. Able to press brake pedal and watch the vaccum bleed; let go, and watch it tighten. I replaced a few of the hoses for good measure. I then moved on to Electrical - having a new CC indicator switch, I confirmed that everything on the stalk is good. I then traced ALL wires at the interface to the ECU following Bentley and Townsend to the letter. They all checked out fine - except I didn't go so far as to test the system while driving (Pin 3 beyond testing the 'Set' button). Thus - I'm stuck. I know I don't have a bad stalk, nor a vaccum leak - the two items to check first. I also checked for continuity at the dump value and both it and the vaccum seal work great. Soooooo - how do you definitively nail down a bad ECU? Or have I just gotten there by reason of deduction? For info, this is an intermittant problem, occasionally, the CC works - say, one out of every ten times I try it.
Many thanks, and sorry for another CC question.
David
