You can replace the bulbs in the clarion radio. Radio shack carries micro bulbs for the replacement. I can't remember if they are 12v or less for series wiring, but they are called microbulbs.
Pull the radio and remove front knobs and any lock nuts, then unscrew/pry off the front panel. I did this nearly 10 years ago, so a bit fuzzy on exactly how I got the front panel off. Perhaps you don't even completely separate the panel and leave it connected via printed film. Anyway you can get access to the bulbs.
Once you get it open and locate the bulbs, desolder them and replace. The hardest part in any intricate soldering job is holding the new bulb and two thin wires in place while you hold the the soldering iron and solder in your "other two hands." I didn't have a helper, so I had to use one of those soldering vice/clamps for an extra hand.
