You're on the right track for moisture related problems. New bougi wires, OEM(only) distributor rotor), dist cap, regap NGK plugs. Get a spray bottle filled with water and spray the ignition at night while the engine is idling with valve cover plate removed. Usually any ignition problems will be visible as arcing.

Matt's problem could be ignition related, but I suspect that he has a problem with fuel system. The first thing I would do is jump fuses 27 and 30 at the fuse box to run the fuel pump for about 10 seconds prior to starting. Then start the engine and if problem goes away, suspect a fuel pump or pump checkvalve issue.

If problem persists, the next thing I would do is swap in a known good AMM. The AMM controls fuel supply at start up before the O2 sensor has a chance to warm up and take over some of the fuel management chores.

Of course, check for any vacuum leaks at grommets and hoses. Also a good maintenance item is to clean the throttle body with carb spray and a toothbrush, paying particular attention to any build up in the bore where the throttle buytterfly rests on the bore. Check the trottle position switch on the side of the throttle body(search bb for info on this). Also clean out the AIC valve(near the thermostat) with carb spray.
