Prop the deck up with a stick or something when you change struts.
I knocked the top of the right strut off, not realizing it was the left that was shot. The deck came crashing down (they're heavy) onto the now hanging out at an angle strut and creased the deck lip and the adjacent rear quarter.
Boy, did I feel stupid.
