That'll teach you to clean up the iginition area when this is fixed. It collect debris easily as it is at the low point.
It happened to my 89 900S (RIP) twice years ago. The first time wasn't long enough to burn out the starter. The second time did. IIRC, you don't touch the intake manifold. Three bolts (two and the brcket) are all you need to remove. You'll have to somehow wiggle it out. I am sure you can figure out how.
Price? I still remember another customer at Pepboys who responded to my gripes of the starter being so expensive. "That'll teach you a lesson buying imports!", he said. Try Eeuroparts or any of the site sponsors.
